The Adventz Agri Innovation Centre (AAIC) is constantly on the search for and development of agricultural technologies, techniques and innovation to enhance farm sustainability. Here are few stable prototypes that are being extended to mainstream agricultural practice. Farmers are invited to visit and interact with these prototypes to reduce barriers to adoption once mainstreamed.
Sustainable Sugarcane Initiative is a method of Sugarcane production which involves using fewer seeds, less water and optimum utilisation of fertilisers and land to achieve more yields. SSI is an alternative to conventional seed, water and space intensive sugarcane cultivation specifically in water deficit areas.
The 25 acres at AAIC is allocated to sugarcane adopting the principle of SSI – the model is to demonstrate harvesting ~ 75 T/acre.
